Hi Everybody -- Sorry we haven't declared a winner sooner. We're a small team trying to launch this organization while also managing other responsibilities. We'll be getting together next week to discuss the submissions! Warmly, CH

Agh, this site sucks anymore. they want you to design it in a time frame then they take their good old time picking if they even pick.

designbox I did not want to say nothing because this chat box suppose to be for the CH giving feed to designers but it do not suppose to be for designers talking about others in order to make CH change their mines about some design concept that they like. I see that a lot in this site designer change there names to critique others for them to win, that is low. but I see your professionalism, in all your designs and you know what I mean... a lot of this logos have gradient and for a school logo you can not add gradient color because is hard to print specially in black and white, also is hard to engrave. and I'm not saying that I'm perfect in design logos but at lest I know what I'm doing. sometimes I do not get the right design but we all need help for the CH to make the proper design for them, and that's is why all of us are here to make that happen. oh well! Good luck to all and I will report this to this site. :((((( also a school logo with that long name in order to look grate you need to cut the name if is not round and every one that know designing knows that, also school logo first choice it will be primary color but CH request that CH likes brownish and blues. also a logo have 3 way to do it and is with the icon on the top , left or right. I'm clear in that. and #51 is not a happy face is two kids with equal opportunity... but I guess I have to work more in it..... Sorry CH but I had to write something people get to change name and critique other to win that is a shame....:( if I could withdraw my design I will. but this site do not give that choice I will not continue participate here. is not right. People have to ruin the CH project by doing that . and not thinking about the professionalism only about the money!:((( goo nigh adiossss.. Good luck to everyone that want to design and like it and play right this game:)))

marcus just adding some more ideas...JK. CH disregard my designs just trying to add to your pool of good designs
marcus March 14, 2010 6:47 PM
designbox those are bit close to mine??? Are you joking.... or what?
designbox March 14, 2010 5:58 PM
... and buck teeth too. Nice copy attempt with terrible results.
designbox March 14, 2010 5:57 PM
#51 is that a smileface with a unibrow? Nothin says equal opportunity more than that.
designbox March 14, 2010 8:37 AM
raghavhere... you are nuts. Ltd. you're a copycat with strange psychopath reasoning. And marcus I agree with you where have all the real designers gone? And what has happened to this site? Viva and BW what do you think?
marcus March 14, 2010 12:55 AM
One other thought... I've been on this site for a few months and have noticed a huge fall of in the designs in the last two weeks... Where have all the profesional designers gone? Many of the designs are so unreadable with no understanding of design. Why? What happened? Seems we get a lot of untrained and unschooled wanna bees here. It also appears that many aren't even using vector based programes to build their designs. So, how does that do the client any good. Haters you should spend your time trying to improve you talent and tools rather then waisting it. Good luck.
marcus March 14, 2010 12:48 AM
Raghavhere... Are you serious? I am a professional designer... not a hack, like 90% of the designs here. Never seen the logo you refer to and do 100% original work... Good luck with whatever you do.
raghavhere March 13, 2010 11:18 PM
Marcus your logo #42 looks very similar to http://www.ubuntu.com/
Regal Touch Designs March 13, 2010 9:39 PM
Are you serious? So if I copy #30, add 1 more person(making it more diverse), and changing colors that would be cool according to your way of thinking. Why do I have a feeling marcus wouldn't be cool with that, or any other designer for that matter.
LTd March 13, 2010 7:49 PM
@regal - Yes, I can easily see how someone who would stick a clip art mortar board in the center of a circle and call it a logo could easily be confused by the concept of three integrated mortar boards representing equal opportunity. lol!!!
Regal Touch Designs March 12, 2010 2:35 PM
Thanks for ripping off my graphic idea LTd. I guess using 3 of them makes it ok.
lindagin March 12, 2010 10:11 AM
sorry for thee # 26 it was not the right one I made a mistake and re summit the right design thanks
Recycled Graphics March 11, 2010 12:39 PM
For #20 i tried to simplify it a little more like you mentioned. I'm glad you like the colors of mine, that's a good start for me.

Symmetry may be an important element to reflect balance.

I like the color scheme direction taken in #4-#6 and the elegant, and round simplicity of #18. (But again, am open to your artistic creativity, rather than wanting to tell you all the elements that should be in it, and having the designer's vision hampered by those). I think it ultimately needs to end up sparse and elegant. A well-crafted logo to represent schools that we certify as having taken the time to perfect their craft for students of all backgrounds.

To see our logo up to this point, go to www.equalopportunityschools.org, right click the little read dot in the header and select "view image." I think that you need to follow your creative instinct rather than stick tightly into my suggestions. I'm not an artist. We wanted to move away from the all red logo because it's jarring and screams "stop." We want something that would work as a stamp (like "certified" / seal of approval, but not with those words) or an imprimatur. Something that maybe evokes the cause of fair chances for students, but not in a cheesy way. Feel free to ignore our guidelines if they're getting in the way of a good idea. Other colors, even using the school house. But this is the type of thing you might see beneath the name of schools across the country -- on their letterhead, or even on the building itself. It needs to be elegant, and work well when intrictate color is removed (so it could stand alone, in bronze, for example. Elegant, powerful, beautiful, right. What we want our schools to be for our kids.

Sorry posting too much but I took EOS out from my previous design.
Recycled Graphics March 10, 2010 7:34 AM
Hagar, what can we do to make them feel right? Any suggestions besides leaving off the EOS.

So far, I like #4, #11 and #7 best, but none of these feel just right yet... I hope I can see some more submissions. Thanks so much for your help! Best, Hagar
Mike_Red March 9, 2010 9:09 AM
Now that i look at it, the logo in the top right of my thumbnail (#9) was a dumb idea.
Recycled Graphics March 8, 2010 9:12 PM
Hagar, got it. If you choose #5 or #6, i would delete "Schools" out of the circle, take out the E.O.S. and add the "Schools" on the banner, and shift over the "Equal Opportunity" text in the circle.

Hey all. Thanks for the submissions so far. We are not interested in having logos showcase our abbreviated name - "EOS". Please leave that out of future designs. Thanks! Hagar

Set your art board to 760 pixels wide by 560 pixels high. That's the dimension that is recommended when you upload your files.
Recycled Graphics March 8, 2010 6:30 AM
I don't know why my files are stretching when enlarged on here. I saved as Png-24 and it still does it. They are fine on the actually design files though if i were to win.
